The bot posting the results (Bot username can be set to Guest for security) instantly added a playful element. Members loved challenging the bot and seeing the outcome appear right in the chat.
• mChat Games: Duels (Dice & Rock Paper Scissors): Taking the single-player games up a notch, Duels allowed members to challenge each other. The competitive aspect really got people going. We set the Duel challenge timeout to a reasonable 10 minutes to keep things moving. It's a great way to spark spontaneous interactions between members.
• mChat Hangman: This was a game-changer. After installing mChat Arcade (which is the foundation for many interactive games) and then mChat Hangman, members could challenge each other to guess words. The challenger sets the word, and the other player guesses. It's fantastic for sustained engagement, as a single game can last several minutes, keeping both players and onlookers glued to the chat.
• mChat Battleship: For those who enjoy a bit more strategy, Battleship (also built on mChat Arcade) became an instant hit. The setup is simple: enable mChat Arcade and then mChat Battleship. There are no extra settings for Battleship itself, as it uses Arcade's shared challenge flow. After enabling mChat Birthday, we set a Posted by (username) (again, we used Guest) and now, a message automatically appears when members have a birthday. It's a small thing, but it makes members feel seen and often sparks a wave of well wishes in the chat, fostering a warm atmosphere.

The key to all of this was the seamless integration. Once mChat, mChat Games and mChat Arcade were enabled, the games appeared via a simple button in the mChat toolbar. We used the Sandbox mode in mChat Games and mChat Arcade to test everything out with our admin team before rolling it out to the wider community. The results were clear: more engagement, more laughter, and a much more vibrant real-time community.
